Bonnie Rose is an illustrator & educator living in northern Connecticut. She holds a B.F.A. and an M.F.A. in illustration, and is certified to teach PreK-12 art education. Please see her staff interview with the New Britain Museum of American Art here.


In 2022, Bonnie Rose was honored to be a recipient of a Connecticut Sea Grant Arts Support Award for her picture book and educational materials on ocean farming in the Long Island Sound. Please see the interview and press release here.




Bonnie Rose has also worked with the Wadsworth Atheneum, the Connecticut Science Center, the Mystic Museum of Art, Manchester Community College, and the Connecticut Center for the Book at Connecticut Humanities, where she had the privilege of being a judge for the CT Book Awards from 2017-2019. She has also worked as a bookseller at the independent UCONN Co-Op bookstore, and was previously the Art Director of Community Programing & Education at the Savannah Children’s Museum in Savannah, GA.



Her illustration credits include Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts, The Hartford Courant, The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), National Education Association (NEA), The American Booksellers Association (ABA), New England Children’s Books Advisory Council (NECBA), Publisher’s Weekly Children’s Bookshelf, Hartford Healthcare, National Read Across America Day, The Georgia State Railroad Museum (GSRM).
